Fear of Light

Nyet, nyet, she yelled as the sun rose, its light creeping upon her skin. She was afraid. Afraid of light and the pain and what it meant. But she was frozing. A statue atop the Harz Mountains. Her mate had abandoned her, though not even he could make it back to Kassel.
Semper fi dur nacht! she exclaimed. A final statement to her life of image and lie. Impersonation. Punishable by death. And frozen immortality.
